Remote access

Remote access lets you monitor and control agent sessions on your device through the Pontia web dashboard. Agents, development tools, and project files continue to run and remain on that device.

Enable remote access during setup

pontia init asks whether you want to sign in and enable remote access. If you accept, it completes login, registers the device, restarts the local service with the remote configuration, and opens the dashboard for that device.

Enable remote access later

First, sign in:

pontia login

Pontia prints a verification address and a one-time code. Open the address in a browser, sign in with Google or GitHub, and approve the code. The CLI stores the resulting credential under your Pontia home directory.

Then register the current device:

pontia remote enable

Choose an available Edge and confirm the device name when prompted. Pontia generates the device identity used for end-to-end encrypted access and updates the running service when needed.

Open app.pontia.dev to access your registered device.

Security model

The browser and your device establish an end-to-end encrypted session. The Edge carries the connection and relays ciphertext, while Pontia Cloud manages login, device registration, and access authorization.

Agent execution and project files remain on your device. Enabling remote access does not move the execution environment into Pontia Cloud.

Disable remote access

To unregister the current device and disable its remote access:

pontia remote disable

Local access remains available after remote access is disabled.
