Workspaces
A Workspace is the project directory in which an agent runs. One Workspace can be associated with multiple Sessions.
Workspace Browser roots
A root is an administrator-configured directory that the Dashboard may browse. Roots are set in $PONTIA_HOME/config.toml:
[workspace_browser]
roots = [
{ root_id = "projects", label = "Projects", path = "/home/me/projects" }
] Each root_id must be unique. The path must be an existing absolute directory when Pontia uses it. On a first initialization, Pontia configures the user’s home directory as the root; later pontia init runs preserve existing roots.
Roots are a browsing boundary for Pontia, not an operating-system sandbox. The Agent Client still runs with the permissions of its local process.
Activate a Workspace
In Workspaces, choose a root, browse to a project, and activate that directory. An active Workspace becomes available in New chat and can be associated with multiple Sessions.
You can rename an active Workspace without moving its directory. Deactivating or revoking it prevents new selections but does not delete project files. If a directory moves outside all configured roots or disappears, the Dashboard marks the registration unavailable so you can revoke it.
File mentions
Inside an active Workspace, type @ in the composer to search for files and directories. File-picker behavior is configurable, including ignored files, hidden entries, symlink traversal, result limits, and timeouts. See Configuration.
A file mention identifies relevant local context for the Agent Client; it does not upload the Workspace to Pontia Cloud.
