Dashboard guide
The Dashboard is the main place to create, observe, and control agent Sessions. The hosted Remote Dashboard connects securely to agents running on your device.
Open the Dashboard
Use app.pontia.dev and select a registered device. See Remote access if the device is not registered yet.
Local Dashboard
The local Dashboard is available at http://127.0.0.1:8080/dashboard and uses the external_api_token from $PONTIA_HOME/config.toml. Access from another device requires a secure tunnel or forwarding setup.
Activate a Workspace
A Workspace is the project directory in which an agent runs. Before creating a Session, use Workspaces to browse one of the configured roots and activate the project directory.
Only directories inside a configured Workspace Browser root can be activated. The first initialization uses your home directory as the default root. See Workspaces to restrict or change the available roots.
Start a Session
- Open New chat.
- Select an active Workspace.
- Select the pi or Codex Agent Client.
- Describe the job and submit the prompt.
Pontia creates a durable Session and starts the selected Agent Client on your device. The Session remains available in Pontia even when you navigate away from the chat.
Control active work
The chat page streams the conversation and work steps exposed by the Agent Client. While using a Session, you can:
- send another message when the agent is idle;
- queue input while a supported Agent Client is busy;
- interrupt the current Turn when the Client supports interruption;
- retry or dismiss Inbox messages whose delivery failed;
- use
/modelto change the model for later Turns when the Client supports model changes; - type
@to find files and directories in the active Workspace; - edit an eligible earlier user message to branch from that point in the native conversation history.
A successful message submission does not by itself mean a new Turn has started. The Inbox shows input that Pontia is still tracking, including messages waiting for delivery or already queued by an Agent Client.
Chat commands
Type / in the composer to see commands available in the current context:
| Command | Result |
|---|---|
/new | Start a new Session, keeping the current Workspace when possible |
/rename | Rename the current Session |
/model | Choose a model for subsequent Turns, when supported |
/exit | End Pontia’s active control of the current Session |
Ending a Session does not necessarily delete or terminate the Agent Client’s native conversation. The exact lifecycle depends on the Client.
Keyboard shortcuts
Chat pages provide these shortcuts:
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
Alt+J / Alt+K | Move to the next or previous active chat |
Alt+1 … Alt+9 | Open an active chat by sidebar position |
Alt+N | Open New chat |
Alt+L | Focus the composer |
Alt+? | Show the shortcut reference |
Organize Sessions
Use a Session’s action menu to rename, pin, archive, or end it. The Sessions page separates active, archived, and pinned Sessions. Archiving removes a Session from the active list without deleting its recorded control state.
The chat header also shows available metadata such as Workspace, Git branch and status, model, context usage, and Client. Fields appear only when the selected Client reports them.
